Free Mother’s Day MATH Craftivity? YES.

This file contains 2 different math craftivities that can be used in 2 different ways. There is one page of the Percentage Poem template and mom coloring activity included. Students can write a percentage poem by identifying 5 things that make up their mom and assigning each a percent. Then students can color the MOM sign and add their picture to the heart if you’d like. There is one page of the Mom Fraction template, where students can identify 4 things that make up quarters of their mom. Then students can color the MOM sign and add their picture to the heart if you’d like. There are also pages that contain each of the templates only, and a page with craft outlines to make the Mom sign using colored paper. You can also add a picture in the heart as in the picture of the cover page.

Based on the standards, the Mom Fraction math craftivity would be more appropriate for younger students while the Percentage Poem math craftivity would be more appropriate for older students.

Teacher Gifts

It made my day when I received a end of the year gift from one of my students.  He is in preschool and left me this on my desk.

gift 1

His classroom teacher scribed for him.  This is what it said:

“Thank you playing with me.  Her play outside sometimes with me.  Her plays crayons and letters with me.  Thank you making me silly.  Her play Mickey Mouse game with me.  Her make flowers with me.  Her make me feel good.  Her make me feel happy.”

Love, D.

It was so sweet.  He also left me a flower.

gift 2

I love being a teacher and it’s the little things like this that make it even sweeter.

“A little with the fear of the Lord is better than great riches with trouble.”

(Proverbs 15:16)

It’s almost May!  I updated this activity to be used for the end of the 2013-2014 school year. I made this little activity for students to reflect on what they learned this school year. I wanted to create an end of the year activity that had a little substance and required students to reflect on the highlights of what they learned throughout the year! Also, I wanted to it be fun. The first page of the document shows an example of the activity. On the second page, students fill in what grade they are in and write their name on the line. Then they can cut out both boxes and glue them on a file folder. On the next five pages, students can fill in something they learned in Reading, Math, Writing and about Making Friends and Attitude! There is space where students can draw a picture as well. Then have students put the sheets in their “file” and you can staple them if you’d like. (Target has really cute file folders in the One Spot!)

Enjoy!  If you like this, please rate me, or follow me!
Thank you!!!
