March Bulletin Board

I thought I would share my March bulletin board in my classroom.  I made a tree from bulletin board paper a few years ago and laminated it and I use on my bulletin board most of the year!  I just change the leaves, theme and sign to make it work.  For March, I put up my green leaves which I made from a sample book of wallpaper I got for free at Crayons to Computers.  Then I added glitter shamrocks that I found in The One Spot at Target.  I attached the shamrocks with my ladybug push pins for good luck.

The sign says, “Good Luck Is Nice But Hard Work Is Better!” which is so true…  I used a font I made called Ckawesome.  It’s available for free in my store.  Here is the link!

CKFonts {Set 2}

I love bulletin boards but as a teacher and mommy, I don’t have tons of time to make elaborate ones!  The tree is a nice way to spruce up my classroom each month.  My students like to check out the tree and ask me about it.  I hope you like it!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Test Passing Rap Fluency Passage and Comprehension Activities

State testing is coming up, here in Ohio at least!  Just about six weeks left to prepare students.  I wrote this Testing Passing Rap to try to make it a little fun for them.

3 Day Fluency/Comprehension Reading Intervention

This is an original fluency passage I wrote and comprehension/extension activities to accompany it. This package includes a teacher copy that you can print in color and reuse.  It also includes a black and white copy that you can print off for each student and record their scores on it. There are low level comprehension questions, higher level comprehension questions, and a short writing activity.

Flesch Kincaid Readability Grade Level: 3.1

*How to Use*
This was designed to use as a reading intervention using the hot, warm and cold read strategy.  It would look something like this:

Day 1: Cold read, discussion, first page of comprehension questions (Lower levels of Blooms Taxonomy including Remembering and Understanding)
Day 2: Warm read, discussion, second page of comprehension questions or activity (Middle levels of Blooms Taxonomy including Applying and Analyzing)
Day 3: Hot read, discussion, extension activity (Highest levels of Blooms Taxonomy including Evaluating and Creating).  On this day I would have students do the test taking tips writing activity to use as a reminder to read before tests.

I wrote this passage to help prepare my third graders for state testing, which they take in the fall and in the spring. I hope you like it! You can use my fluency progress monitoring graph available for free in my store to track students’ fluency progress with this passage.

I am so happy to share my stuff with you!  Good luck on state testing!

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

(Joshua 1:9)

Pumpkin Patch Alphabet Activities

I know it is almost Thanksgiving, but I wanted to share this pumpkin themed resource!  This activity packet includes a blank pumpkin patch sequencing template for the alphabet, a template that includes some capital letters, and a template that includes some lowercase letters.  There are color pumpkin alphabet flashcards for both capital and lowercase letters.  There are also black and white pumpkin alphabet flashcards for both capital and lowercase letters. Additionally, there is a pumpkin patch template for spelling CVC pattern words and a letter matching activity where students match letters to spell Happy Halloween.  Click on the pic for the *link* to the item in my store.

I hope you love it!

“You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothe my with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.”

iPad Clipart Back to School *FREEBIE*

I made this iPad clipart to use for a student work display and wanted to share it. I went with a fun technology theme. The student work display says, “iWork really hard.” I used the iPad clipart and typed students’ names underneath the iPad using my cklittlebuttons font.  It is free in my CKFonts *2* zip file for classroom use.  Then I had students draw a self-portrait on the screen of the iPad and it looks really cute.  Maybe I’ll share a pic.  🙂  Click on the picture for the link to the *free* file in my store.

iPad Clipart Preview

In the zip file is an iPad png. file with a transparent background, the preview, and the Terms of Use.  The Terms of Use just ask that you put a link to my store: www.teacherspayteachers/store/courtney-keimer or to my blog: www.somedivineintervention.wordpress.com.

If you like it, please rate me on TpT or follow me.
Thank you teachers!
